What Are Felt-Sleeve

Green Wall Panels?

There are many types of living green wall systems, from fiberglass planters to tray systems and modular systems. At Miami Green Walls, we use felt sleeve panels.

Our felt sleeve green wall panels are

composed of these layers:

Aluminum frame
The base layer is expanded PVC sheets.
A layer of Pex-B irrigation pipes with integrated drippers is installed over the PVC sheets to provide efficient watering
Felt sleeves are placed onto the PVC sheets, covering the irrigation pipes. This design keeps water contained within the system.
Plants, along with their soil, are inserted into the felt pockets. Their roots grow into the felt, creating a robust, natural ecosystem within the vertical garden.

1. Excellent Root Support and Moisture Retention

Felt materials hold moisture well while allowing air to circulate, creating a healthy environment for root growth. The texture also helps anchor the plant roots in place.

Our felt sleeve green wall system includes top-down drip irrigation. Water wicks downward through the felt, ensuring all plants receive hydration and nutrients with minimal waste.

Compared to more complex modular panels or hydroponic walls, felt sleeve system is more affordable to install and maintain—especially at scale.

5. Plant Variety and Flexibility

Because each plant sits in its own pocket, it’s easy to switch plants out or reconfigure the wall for seasonal or aesthetic reasons.

This system adapts well to both environments. Indoors, it promotes air purification and humidity control. Outdoors, it helps regulate temperature and shield walls from UV and rain.

7. Any type of pre-existing wall

Felt living green wall panels can be installed on any type of pre-existing wall, whether concrete, blocks, framing, etc. The type of finish it has does not affect the installation of the system, as it is structurally independent and waterproof.
